There are about 30 of us from all walks of life, bound together by our love of railroading, plus the various skills needed to build a miniature railroad. Each of us has expertise in at least one field and most are adept in several areas. The diversity of model railroading requires skills not only in the construction of scale locomotives, freight and passenger cars, buildings, scenery, track, and switches, but also in the ability to do basic carpentry, complex electrical wiring and academic research in full sized train operation as well.

However, all of us pull together and from this effort emerges what we like to think is a railroad empire that fulfills our objective of realistic operation.

Our annual Christmas party from 2004 is pictured below. In the past we have been able to have our party on private railroad cars but this year it was at a restaurant in Burbank, adjacent to Glendale, CA.

Scott McKeown

Scott was a member of our club since he was a teenager. He was planning a signaling project at LAUPT on the club layout when he was tragically taken from us in a Metrolink train wreck on January 26, 2005. We will miss you dearly, Scott.

The photo above shows Scott handling his Amtrak train at Bakersfield on the club layout during an open house November 4, 2001, wearing the traditional yellow shirt we use during public shows.
